How do I know if I have melasma?
Only a doctor can diagnose whether you have melasma. As a general rule, melasma appears as brown, or gray-brown, patches or spots on the face.
Because these patches are so characteristic of melasma, dermatologists are able to diagnose most patients just by looking at their skin.
In some cases, a skin biopsy is necessary to confirm that the brown patches are melasma.
While only your doctor can diagnose you with melasma, you can find out more about your risk for the condition by taking the
Melasma Check Test.
